Corporate Life = Political Life

I want to offer you a tool that can help you cope with the frustration, panic, and anxiety of corporate politics. It’s my free workbook, “The Five Deadly Shoulds of Office Politics that Maul, Mangle, and Murder Careers (and what to do about them).”

Why is it free?

Because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like. And I know how much it would have meant to me if someone had understood and reached out a hand to help. So it’s my hope that this will help you. And between clarifying what politics is at its best, and trying out some of the practical suggestions you’ll read in the workbook and in my newsletter, you may find that you have a changing attitude about office politics. And along the way, you just might find more success in your career and more peace in your heart.

Please take just a moment to fill out the form below, and I will send you both:

Five Deadly Shoulds Book

1. The Five Deadly Shoulds of Office Politics that Maul, Mangle, and Murder Careers (and what to do about them)

This workbook provides a detailed discussion of what politics really means in the office and out of it, and why it feels so icky in the workplace. Then it explores five common beliefs or “shoulds” about office politics, helps you identify how that particular “should” is playing a part in your career, and gives you some practical steps for battling it back.

The five “shoulds” include:

  1. I should be able to succeed without participating in office politics.
  2. I should get recognition for my work without having to sell myself.
  3. I should be able to trust that my friends at work have my best interests at heart.
  4. It should be safe for me to tell the truth.
  5. Senior management should always know what they’re doing.

I recently gave a speech to my Toastmaster’s group. My speech was a reflection of your book. It included how Political Correctness and Political Savvyness have gotten out of control. I used a few of your solutions, along with one of my most important solutions to remedy the problem of getting caught up with these too-political characters. Your e-book is outstanding. Thanks so...o...o much. I love it. You have hit on issues that many coaches and mentors just ignore.

2. My twice-monthly newsletter

My newsletter offers readers unusual viewpoints and practical techniques on a range of corporate-politics topics. Readers forward it on, request additional copies when theirs go missing, and write notes to me that inspire me to greater heights!

I’ve just read your December newsletter and it’s fantastic! Your sense of humor shines through so brightly and it was really, really fun to read. I’m so glad I got a copy! And your process sounds like a really great way to look forward to 2007 — I’m going to have to give it a try.
– Jessica Albon, The Write Exposure

As usual, your writing is masterful and inspiring! I admire your consistent ability to produce such quality “meditations.” Another thing that’s so neat about you as a human being is that you actually WALK your TALK ... yaay, Grace.
– Annie Russo, Performance Support Consultant
