I was very concerned to have a team of people that I could work with who would “get” me — a team where everyone had the capacity to understand what I do so they could present it in my voice and style and energy. And I needed you to see it as more than just a writing job — to understand that this is about a website where the words and the look all have to work together.

So I created a team — you, the designer, and me. And I asked you to interact with some of the design features so you could give feedback to me, and you took a very active role in looking at the visual design, not just from a content point of view.

You were a great partner.

You were extremely responsive — I’ll start there. You were highly responsive, both in terms of getting what I wanted, and also very timely about it. I set, I think, a pretty challenging deadline — start to finish in two months, and with the amount work to be done, that wasn’t a generous amount of time.

Second, you really did tune in to me. I remember our first hour-long interview — it was really more of a conversation than an interview! I was able to go very deep and very far in communicating about myself and who I am and what I do. And you got it — you got it at the content level and at the energetic and spiritual level. That gave me a huge amount of confidence that there was an alignment between what I wanted and what you would do.

Creating a website is a process. And the process was extremely important for me. It helped me to truly crystallize my message. I get nothing but rave reviews and feedback on the website, and I’m much more coherent and clear about what my message is.

The work you did on the testimonials was extraordinary. We started the testimonial process to get some good “sound bites,” and obviously we ended up with far more than that. Those stories are a major feature of my website.

I was in Rome last week, and met with one of my testimonial people, and she talked about how great it was to talk to you and what a great conversation it was. They all experienced the testimonial interviews as being a really positive thing for them to do — it was a fun, useful, interesting experience for them, and I think they felt very gratified by it.

It was pivotal having you there, because you were such a catalyst and a source of feedback. You got me to really see the site through the eyes of my customers, and that was critical. You were very direct and very honest in your appraisals of everything. And I really appreciated that — I really wanted to know.

Working together was absolutely key, and I think that’s what made it such a great experience. I felt like you were my partner in this. I felt like my success was your success.

To me, someone who has that attitude and the skills to go with it — that’s an unbeatable combination!
