Svaha: the time between seeing lightning and hearing the thunder
I will be eternally grateful for your great gift of taking in to the fullest extent what it is that I have to offer, living it, and then reflecting it back in terms of the potential experience of others. You have given words to a process that defies words. And you’re constantly in a position to help me continue to hone that, deeper and deeper and more and more resonantly, who I am and what I offer, which is truly invaluable. — Jon Hansen, The Remembering Room, Richmond, Illinois

Working together was absolutely key, and I think that’s what made it such a great experience. I felt like you were my partner in this. I felt like my success was your success. To me, someone who has that attitude and the skills to go with it — that’s an unbeatable combination! — Daniel Stone, www.danielstone.com, Washington DC, New York City, Delaware, South Carolina, and India

I have a website I’m proud of — but for me, the hugest benefit has been increased self-confidence. Because of the process we went through, and the validity that came with the process, I trust what I think and I trust myself to speak about it. I have greater confidence and clarity in my message about who I am and what I do. — Bev Dwane AICI CIP, www.bevdwane.com, Durham, North Carolina

I knew the look and design of my new website wouldn’t be a problem. The huge struggle for me was the content — how was I ever going to get it written? It just never occurred to me that there was somebody out there who could help me and it wouldn’t be way beyond what I could afford.
The great thing for me was being able to talk it through with you — that was fabulous. I could let it all come out, and I didn’t have to organize the thoughts and make it right, make it perfect, make it grammatically correct. I could just let it come out and you did all that. And to have it mirrored back and be able to say, “Yes, that’s what I meant!” is wonderful.
You have the gift of being able to listen well, and that’s what allows you to write so well. People want to be heard, and you listen to write. That’s really important. You don’t have a pre-conceived idea of what should be written.
You’re a good writer, and you’re also a fabulous coach. You knew how to bring it out and talk to me about it, which gave me the confidence to talk to you about it more. And you pushed and prodded when it was appropriate, and you let me feel comfortable about being disjointed. I could speak the chaos of my thoughts, and it was okay for them to be chaotic. You brought them into order — you make order out of chaos.
The written word is so powerful. To me, the written word is a validation. If something can be put in writing, in a good and powerful way, there’s an intrinsic validity to it. So for me to see what’s been roaming around up in my head, to see it gain clarity and presence in the written word, it was like, oh my gosh, I did think that, I did know that, that is what I’m about.
You gave my work a life of its own by putting it into words. It was very confirming for me, and very humbling at the same time.
